Written Names aims to answer the calls of thousands of Sefardim—Jews from Sefarad (Spain)—who longed to perpetuate their names in someone’s memory before their annihilation during the Holocaust. The initiative focuses on finding and writing their names to subdue those who wanted to erase the memory of the Jewish people forever.  The intent is to defeat hate, restore memory, and celebrate life by transforming their names into a living memorial.

“To write a name is to rescue someone from the world of oblivion, which retains everything.”
